DLC needs:

I just want to kill reapers, cut their hull, board their ships, steal it, then salvage tech, then talk to reapers, then recruit their defects, infiltrate their HQ, build forward base on planet, build fleets, colonize planets, terraform planets, build space stations, set up mining operations, set up space industry, interstellar trade, research better tech, train marines, outfit ships including kinetic weapons, plasma weapons, laser weapons, photon, positron, gravitron, controlled fusion propulsion, anti-matter propulsion, custom rigs, custom decal and paint, board ships from gunship, corvette, frigate, destroyer, hauler, cruisers, interdictors, battlecrusiers, command ships, missle frigates, stealth bombers, barges, command ships, battleships, carriers, flagships, dreadnaughts, and death star.  Intelligent ship AI, intelligent marine AI, forming large scale group tactics.  Deep space exploration, electronic warfare, electronic counter measures, be able to custom internal ship designs, meaningful currency.  different levels of shield technology and barriers applied to both personnel and ships, different resistances, be able to concentrate shield output.  ship crew exp system, ship ability system, command abilities, sensor abilities, combat intelligence, cloaking devices, diplomacy, individual political leanings. AND, BE A SPACE PIRATE, then I might be satisified....

aww, but I wanna keep the 3rd person shooter aspect since it gives you more control and it is flashy, I rather walk around on a ship than, say watching two dots and their hp goes down.  actually, for the 3rd person shooter, it will be cool if they add body part damage, such as how New Vegas gives you penalties on which part is damaged.  Also, story/choices, and the setting is important too, which ME3 does a good job.  The Citadel is the best space station I seen I a game.

I beat Mass Effect 3 last night.  The ending was... weird and blunt, but not without the severity and impact of the other choices in the game.  I think that many fans are blowing this out of proportion because 1) they wanted an "everything-is-great" happy ending, 2) most of their decisions in prior games didn't matter prior to the ending, except whether you got the "good ending choices" or not, and 3) they're a bunch of self-important over-entitled whiners.

I really liked Mass Effect 3.  The ending was weird and I'm not going to say it was good (honestly, underwhelming at best), but I'm not going to get up in arms about it.  And I'll probably buy some DLC because I can afford it and I would like some more Mass Effect to play.  That is all.

I just finished the game a few minutes ago. I, for one, am completely satisfied. The entire final sequence, beginning with the assault on the Illusive Man's base, blew me away, and I wrestled with my final decision for a few minutes before making the call.

(I haven't seen all the possible endings, so I don't know if they're really as similar as everyone says. Still, with the one I chose, I feel like I got closure.)

I really think that all the "fans" demanding a different ending are really out of line.

tl;dr I liked ME3's ending, deal with it.

I should clarify: I thought that the confrontation with The Illusive Man and the nature of the final decision were pretty incredible.  The end result was a little grim-dark (fitting with the entire game), but very satisfying overall.

I was underwhelmed by the action component - the final battle was a series of firefights against regular reaper enemies (oh Haruhi oh Haruhi Banshees).  No final boss encounter, no unique endgame enemies.  Just regular reaper forces and a dramatic "final walk."  I was hoping for something more similar to the Reaper Destroyer fights in Tuchanka or Rannoch or even the two fights against Kai Leng.  I loved all of that.

That's a fair complaint, and I'd rather fight ANYTHING than Banshees anyway so I'm even inclined to agree with you there. That said, I was starting to get that feeling of being pressed in and overwhelmed, so it was a successful final battle in the sense that I felt emotionally on the same wave as my characters.

What color was your space wave, Sollosi? I chose blue.

I went with a green wave.  I suppose it's my inner environmentalist.

I sorta wish that the ending had taken a look back at the outcomes of all the relationships they had you make throughout the game, like what happened to tali (my romance pick) and the rest of the members that didn't die, or did everyone else die in that battle.

Apparently there's going to be a new ending

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/122/1221273p1.html

I haven't played any of the games in the series, so how long would it take to play through all of them?

If you only do the story missions and none of the side stuff, the Mass Effect games aren't terribly long.  It's definitely possible to beat each of them in 15 or 16 hours.  If you do a lot of exploring and optional quests (which is what I recommend) then each game will take closer to 25-30 hours.

And for the record, when that "new ending" stuff leaked last week, I didn't believe it for a second.  I think that BioWare has had some kind of epilogue DLC planned since early in Mass Effect 3's development, and they're trying to piggyback on this controversy to increase anticipation for it.
