Ladies and Gentlemen as you know the Cherry Blossom Festival is approaching. Planning for this event requires more then just the officers, we need people with transportation to figure out how we're getting there, and we need to figure out where/when we will meet up to leave. Since we will need to make sure everyone can make this meeting, please post what day and time you have at least a free hour to talk.

We could also meet during the weekend if thats what it takes.

I would also like to bring up the idea of discussing and brainstorming future meetings in general during this same planning session. I feel that it would be in the greater interest to pool ideas from more people to minimize incidents like fandubbing.

Also I am available almost everyday at anytime except for Tuesday/Thursday before 5pm.

In addition it's probably terrible for us to meet up before Spring Break myself included because of exams. Perhaps the week after would be ideal especially since presumably we should have new officers (lol I'm graduating) after the election March 10th.

I can provide my car for the festival, as for times for a meeting, the only day I generally cant make is Mondays.

Can provide car, will always accept donations for gas.

For getting there, it's really simple.  29N (Emmet St.) -> I-66E -> Exit 62 for the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU metro station.  No GPS necessary.

The Google Maps directions are actually fixed now.

I can generally make it to a planning meeting regardless of when it's scheduled.

I'm free most nights, though getting started by 6 (actually started) on Tuesday would be preferred, though not necessary.

i'm volunteering to be a driver, but i'd prefer if the meeting was post spring break due to midterms and such.
if not, i'm sure i could try to procrastinate my way out of studying to go to the meeting.

as far as transportation, why don't we do what we did last year: park at the metro station (the name escapes me...) and just take the metro in? that worked out great for me...

So that's 2 of us for post-break so far.

Anyway transportation and logistics won't be a problem since will be doing what we've done the past few years. The main concern will be which of the available weekends we should go to the festival.

Also Peaches apparently misinterpreted my original suggestion. This meeting is supposed to be a wide-sweeping general planning meeting NOT just Sakura Matsuri.

Hey, I'll be headed up with you guys-- I'd just really like to know the dates a couple of weeks in advance so I can request the days from work off. Yay, retail. So, I guess the sooner the meeting could be... the better? Please? m(_ _)m

Whatever day is fine, I'm flexible. Except, no Mondays. I can't guarantee I'll be there if it's on a Monday.

Also, I have a truck that can transport 3 people, but it's anyone's guess how well it'll maneuver in that little tiny Vienna metro parking lot.

I have a car as well, though it doesn't fit many people comfortably. The best days for me are mon, tues, weds and weekends would probably also be okay. I don't get off work till 6:30 pm on weekdays though, so I wouldn't be free till later in the evening.

Also, I'm confused about the date decision. The website says the Sakura Matsuri festival will be April 9th, so isn't that when we should be going? It'd be nice to catch the blossoms in bloom, but I can't imagine there would be much to do without the festival to shop/eat at.

lol I don't think I've ever actually seen the Cherry blossoms when I've gone to this shindig in past years. A weekend would work best for me tho since my weeknights are pretty much consumed

^yea, i was a bit confused about that too...

also, i can fit 5 people into my car (ie. 4 other people) comfortably. otherwise, you can squish in one more in the back or, if people don't mind, they can squish into the hatch.

as for days that i'm available: i'm pretty much free everyday except wednesday after 3:30--on wednesdays i'm free after 5

Yeah, give me a date and I can request off.

I'm gonna join the 'meet after spring break' group- exams week from hell ヽ(;´д`)ノ

I can drive 5 people including myself. I'm gonna go ahead and offer lodging too (my parent's basement) for the night before and after- if anyone's interested, we don't have to.

Also I was actually thinking about volunteering for the event. Would anyone wanna do this with me? Last year I think it was Henry? wanted one of the happi but they wouldn't sell it- they were for volunteers only.
