Any reason why? There is greater support for Azumanga in this thread it seems.

The thread is a disproportionate representation of the club as a whole.  I've been reaching out to other members who haven't been on the forums and getting their input.

I like Azumanga, but after re-watching it, I can see why some are less enthused about seeing it in showings.  The energy level is low, the sub-episodic nature contributes to a lack of focus, and the series makes numerous cultural references that might go over the heads of both new and old members.

Seto no Hanayome sits on the other end of the energy scale, perhaps a little too far, but it should keep interest and laughs going.  Being downright absurd, I think it makes a better lead in to NHK, contrasting more when NHK gets serious.

tl;dr - I think SnH makes a better crowd pleaser.

Well, I'll dispute Azumanga having a "low energy level", being that I just re-watched it.  Even though there isn't an overarching plot covering all 26 episodes, there are numerous sub-plots/running gags, and the only overarching thing is that they're going through high school.  It's a slice of life comedy that keeps things clean (even with Kimura around), compare that to Lucky Star or Minami-ke where they're constantly making more adult jokes.

It's tough for me to comment on Seto no Hanayome because I've never seen it.

In a few years I'll be pestering whoever's director then to show Nichijou, anyway.

Regardless of any of this, as soon as we have a lineup, I'll edit it into the forum announcement.

This week and next, I'll polish up ideas on theme showings.  Make suggestions here if you'd like.  Right now, I'll be plotting slots against the prospective calendar.
