Original post by LadyRava Eeh this may just be personal preference but I enjoy showings because it allows me to actually finish something. I have a tendency to start watching several new season shows and never finish any of them so showings is good for me. To each his own though.
Speaking of finishing things, I'd kind of like to know if I get to watch the last 10 episodes of Azumanga on my own (maybe even with a few other people) or in showings with everyone else. We didn't even get to some of the show's best stuff...
@rune_devros / @Canada: So, any plans for Azumanga?

I like the idea of an "experimental" slot each week. I think, in general, showings should be about introducing people to new anime. I think Dennou Coil is a good choice as it's relatively unknown (and a fantastic show). I actually have the R4 (Australian) DVDs - the only official translation - and you're welcome to use them if you want.
Haruhi's one of those shows I'm sure just about everyone's seen, so I'm less thrilled about that, especially if you plan on showing all those episodes...
While we're just throwing out random suggestions, I'd like to put forward Xam'd Lost Memories. I think it's one of the most under-appreciated of Studio Bones' works, and an excellent show.

So, until our showings officers (rune_devros and Canada) get me a schedule to put up on the Showings page, I'm simply keeping track of what we've already watched on that page.
This would be the first semester since the showings page was introduced (last fall) that we haven't had a schedule up in advance of the semester.
Just sayin'.

I can has URL? (go to file->publish to web, make sure "automatically republish" is checked, click "start publishing", select "HTML embed", enter cell range, etc., copy/paste resulting html to me through one or another communications medium)

(oh and BTW anyone reasonably into web design who decides to stick that iframe into an HTML document and wonders why it looks different on the Showings Lineup page, it's because I removed "&widget=true" from the url to make it a bit more compact)

Oh, here's another theme idea: Nutbladder Buster. Bring shows that made you HNNNNGGG. High possibility of giving the Diabetus. Place it after Valentine's or something for maximum results. People could also try to be wacky and creative by bringing shows that make you wonder "WTF How did that make you HNNNNNGGG?"
