text works well on very few wallpapers.
before I started browsing /w/ I didn't really care, now I haet text on 99% of wallpapers.

and here's an official /w/ wallpaper.  It was the result of one of the awesome "doing it wrong" threads a while back.  It's got everything that makes bad wallpapers bad: low res, text, emo poetry, lens flares, a zoom layer in the background, stupid stuff superimposed...

I haven't had desktop icons in years.  Too much clutter obscuring my wallpaper.

I put shortcuts to things I use a lot (games/game-related things) in my start menu, that's about it.  Pic related.
