Posting this one here because I get "We were unable to add one or more of the photos you uploaded." every time I try to upload it to google picasa.

Edit 1: Oh Haruhi dammit it failed to upload here too.  Edit 6: or at least failed to thumbnail properly.  The full image still works, just click the broken thumbnail.

Edit 2: Photoshop complains "a jpeg marker segment length is too short".  I can view it just fine in windows picture and fax viewer :(  I was going to convert it to a PNG...

Edit 3: MSPaint to the rescue.  It opened it, displayed it fine, and I saved it as a PNG and google picasa is happy.

Edit 4: On another note, I've run out of variations on "yoko is hot" for the filenames on all the wallpapers of her I have :(

Edit 5: So, yeah.  I update my google picasa account sporadically, so check back every now and then.  I had a few detexts to do this time around, which was what held off this most recent update.

Hurr, the Miname-ke thread.

I'm actually writing a 4chan archive script right now which scrapes a board and saves all the posts (and images). I'm probably going to scavenge a TB or so of disk space on another machine and rig it up to crawl /w/ every couple of hours, download all the posts wallpapers that it hasn't already fetched, check for duplicates, etc.

Then I'll hook in some kind of keyword/tagging system. Eventually I might be able to host it, but lol I no longer have a job so I dunno wtf is going to happen with that shit.

Fuck, I should be doing something better with my time.

Enjoy Kyonko and friends.

I believe this is truly how to enjoy Kyonko and friends.

Also, I have a widescreen version of that Minami-ke wallpaper where the colors aren't fucked up on picasa already.

Also also, my last update added a bunch of Yuki wallpapers :)

stuff

Might also want to filter out low res (800x600 for sure) stuff, and have some sort of a "final review" thing where same-wallpaper-but-different-res (within the same aspect ratio) and shitty-quality-vs-good-quality cases can be handled.  Also, the final review would be a great way to filter those detext threads so the archive only ends up having the detexts.  It would have to store something about rejected wallpapers though, so it doesn't continually archive said wallpapers.

I'd had a similar idea a while back for a more peer-maintained archive with tagging, request placing/filling, etc., but didn't really feel like writing it.

Also, either I can see 75Hz refreshing or this monitor's on its way out.

lol, the archive script is working. It's a crazy piece of work, lawds. Haven't bothered to add in the code to grab the image sizes from the image data yet, and still need to add a lot of user interface layers on top of it, but the scraper is working like a dream.

Still need to go through and make sure it isn't doing anything retarded (I already found a couple of LOL WHUT mistakes which caused some crashing). Worst case is that it might fetch the same image twice because it didn't write the right thing.

I told it to fetch every post on every thread on the first three pages of /w/, and it's still crunching along eating up my bandwidth. 423 images crunched, weighing in at a whopping 220MB so far, and it's still on the first page I think ;_;

tl;dr found a use for that extra TB of dick space I had lying around.
