StrikeS would seem to logical choice but they are missing a few eps. Anyone know where I could pick up to last two? Or have a better sub-group  in mind?

Just go with Strikes. They'll eventually have the last episode subbed and they are doing the DVD releases as well.

Oh Haruhi, is it time for a Strike Witches thread?

Between this and Macross, it sure is airplanes around here.

However, unlike with Macross, I will be totally shocked if anyone in this club besides me or Honya ends up enjoying this.

Oh is this series only notable for its loli fanservice? I was under the impression it was good beyond that somehow.

EDIT:Or should I say 'in addition'
EDIT2: Should I wait for DVD releases or will the h264's be fine too?
EDIT3:nvm, I'll catch this batch torrent and replace as they come.

It's "in addition" if you're talking to me.
But actually, Strike Witches does bother to put together a bit of a plot and some fun scenarios that put it above your typical just-for-fanservice ecchi show (see: To-LOVE-Ru). I guess what I really mean is that I don't expect anyone to enjoy this series to the degree that I did.

The h264's are just fine, but you might as well go with the DVD releases where you can. Less censorship and crisper resolution.

Holy Fuck. GONZO dropped from Strike WItches 2!

According to Nyan Type magazine January issue, the production studio of Strike Witches 2 was announced to be changed from GONZO to AIC. They are planning to air the series at the beginning of 2010. GONZO remains to be involved in the anime as a member of the production committee.

GONZO just lost 1 of 2 things keeping the company afloat. I feel kind of sorry for them. More importantly I hope I still get my Saki 2.

Wait, what? Wow. Do we know the reason why?

I'm actually a little upset here. Why is it again that series get taken away from the production studio that made them popular? (Lookin' at you, Minami-ke.)

More importantly, is AIC any good? I don't think I've heard of them before. I expect some fucking quality in my Strike Witches 2, and there's gonna be hell to pay if AIC doesn't/can't deliver.

And when does the Xbox 360 game come out?

AIC was originally Pioneer's animation partner responsible for such greats as Tenchi Muyo, Armitage III, and El Hazard.

I'd always thought of them as the same company, but looking up the profiles a bit it looks like Pioneer was using them for production until they created their own animation studio: Geneon.

AIC knows their shit, however, being the force behind anime old and new, ranging from the original Project A-Ko movie, Bubblegum Crisis, and Gall Force to newer stuffs like R.O.D, Chevelier D'Eon, Blood+, Shangri-La, and many, many others.

I think they can pull it off.

Edit: Actually never mind the Geneon part.  Looking at their profile they're production and distribution, but have nothing to do with animation.  They're just a publisher.

huh, I wonder how something major like R.O.D. skipped the wiki article on them.

as soon as I saw Goshūshō-sama Ninomiya-kun on that list... yeah, they can manage fanservice just fine.

At least the dogfight sequences were decent. Though you'd think that with the capabilities of the Striker unit, they'd be able to carry some heavier equipment, like .30cals and 12.7mm MGs instead of LMGs and GPMGs. Sure they had a .50cal AT rifle and 9-tube rocket launcher, but still...
